Goldwing GL 1000 1975 This is the bike that started the legendary line. The Honda Gold Wing is a series of touring motorcycles manufactured by Honda. It was introduced at the Cologne Motorcycle Show in October 1974, and went on to become a popular model in North America, Western Europe and Australia, as well as Japan. Total sales are over 640,000, most of them in the US market.
It was the release of Gold Wing in the US in 1975 that eventually made the brand a force in the American touring market. Originally built as a power-cruiser, domestic consumers had a different goal in mind long-distance touring and with it a legend was born. .
